Tiny Fibers Open New Windows into The Brain

The new fibers were developed through a collaboration among material scientists, chemists, biologists, and other specialists. The results are reported in the journal Nature Neuroscience, in a paper by Seongjun Park, an MIT graduate student; Polina Anikeeva, the Class of 1942 Career Development Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering; Yoel Fink, a professor in the departments of Materials Science and Engineering, and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science; Gloria Choi, the Samuel A. Goldblith Career Development Professor in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, and 10 others at MIT and elsewhere. The fibers are designed to mimic the softness and flexibility of brain tissue. The Human Brain Can Create Structures in Up to 11 Dimensions

Last year, neuroscientists used a classic branch of maths in a totally new way to peer into the structure of our brains. What they discovered is that the brain is full of multi-dimensional geometrical structures operating in as many as 11 dimensions. We're used to thinking of the world from a 3-D perspective, so this may sound a bit tricky, but the results of this study could be the next major step in understanding the fabric of the human brain - the most complex structure we know of. This brain model was produced by a team of researchers from the Blue Brain Project, a Swiss research initiative devoted to building a supercomputer-powered reconstruction of the human brain. The team used algebraic topology, a branch of mathematics used to describe the properties of objects and spaces regardless of how they change shape. Warp Speed Travel Is Theoretically Possible, Says Astrophysicist Yesterday a Youtuber's account got hacked, and this video was uploaded that contains footage of the Black Knight Satellite being shot down. The weapon that was used was an anti-matter warhead according to the Wikileaks documents. It's unclear who gave the order to bring down this extraterrestrial craft. In the video, we also catch a glimpse of the secret aircraft that carried out the attack. After the impact, several escape pods are launched back into space. In this stage, we can only speculate on the reason why the Black Knight Satellite was shot down. Was it about to signal it's creators to come to earth? Was the Black Knight Satellite regarding the boundaries of space for humans that have the ambition of interplanetary traveling?
